Drop Dead

Heard "Drop Dead" by Olivia Rodrigo on Spotify, and for once in my life, I wasn't four years behind on pop culture. There's this lyric about being pressed up in the bathroom line, and my brain immediately went somewhere it probably shouldn't have.

If they're waiting in the same line, the men's bathroom has to be out of order. And if the men's bathroom is out of order, Kurotsuki put it out of order.

OFFstream is an original manga I've been building about a Twitch streamer named Kurotsuki who hides behind an Inari mask and keeps her identity aggressively secret. Haru is a manga artist, and she is absolutely obsessed with that boy. She would orchestrate an entire situation just to stand next to him, then act like she hadn't done a thing. Haru has no idea who this girl is.

I had to draw it. I sat down compulsively and drew it the way you do when something is demanding to exist. One Olivia Rodrigo lyric turned into a full anime-style illustration of two characters I've been carrying around in my head for a while now. As manga artists, we know what it feels like when a scene won't leave you alone until it's on paper.

Then, when I went to share on Instagram, I realized I needed the song… so I did what any reasonably obsessed creative would do…

I cannot resist this anymore. OFFstream is hitting the internet whether I'm ready or not.
